Quick answer: Register through Virtual Pag-IBIG on pagibigfund.gov.ph. Fill out the online Member’s Data Form (MDF) — about 10–15 minutes — save your Registration Tracking Number (RTN), then check back after 2–3 working days for your permanent 12-digit MID number. Registration is free.
What you will get from registering
- RTN (Registration Tracking Number) — issued immediately after you submit the online form. This is your temporary reference.
- MDF copy — a downloadable/printable Member’s Data Form with everything you encoded. Your employer may ask for this.
- MID number — your permanent 12-digit Pag-IBIG Membership ID, released after Pag-IBIG processes your registration (usually 2–3 working days).
Keep all three. The MID is the number you will use for contributions, loans, MP2, and Virtual Pag-IBIG for the rest of your working life — even if you change jobs.
Requirements checklist
Online registration does not ask you to upload documents up front the way a loan application does. What you need is accurate information and working contact details. Prepare these before you start:
Printable checklist — bring/have ready
- [ ] Full legal name exactly as it appears on your PSA birth certificate (last, first, middle; tick “No Middle Name” if none)
- [ ] Date of birth (MM/DD/YYYY format)
- [ ] Mother’s maiden name
- [ ] Present address, permanent address, and preferred mailing address
- [ ] Active mobile number (for OTP verification)
- [ ] Active email address (for confirmations and account recovery)
- [ ] Employment details, if employed: employer name, address, monthly compensation
- [ ] Heir/beneficiary names (optional but recommended)
- [ ] If you have a National ID (PhilID/ePhilID): it can speed up identity verification via QR scan
Per member type
Employed (private or government). Your employer is supposed to register you and remit contributions. But if you were never registered — or you want your own MID before your first job — register yourself online using the steps below, then give your MID to your HR.
Self-employed / freelancers. Register as a voluntary member. You will declare your monthly income and remit contributions yourself through Pag-IBIG’s payment channels.
OFWs. Select the OFW category during registration. You will need your country of assignment and a Philippine mobile number that can receive OTPs. Have your employment contract or POEA/DMW documents ready — some branches ask for them.
Voluntary / non-working spouses. Register online and remit directly (minimum ₱100/month).
Outdated guides alert. If a guide tells you to download and fill out the “Membership Registration Form (MRF),” it is describing a retired process. Pag-IBIG’s current form is the Member’s Data Form (MDF), completed online through Virtual Pag-IBIG. The old MRF references are exactly why the top-ranking guides on this topic are unreliable.
Step-by-step: online registration via Virtual Pag-IBIG
Based on the current online flow (menu labels may shift slightly with portal updates):
1. Go to the official site directly. Type `pagibigfund.gov.ph` into your browser — do not click registration links from random search results, text messages, or social media posts. Phishing pages that harvest MID numbers exist.
2. Find Virtual Pag-IBIG / Online Services and choose “Be a Member” or “Membership Registration.” This opens the online MDF.
3. Read and accept the privacy notice, then choose your registration path. If you have a National ID, you can register using its details (QR scan); otherwise continue with manual personal-information entry.
4. Enter your identity details — last name, first name, middle name, date of birth — exactly as they appear on your PSA birth certificate, plus the captcha code. Click Submit/Proceed.
5. Complete the personal-details pages: father’s name, mother’s maiden name (as on the birth certificate), place of birth, sex, citizenship, civil status, spouse details if applicable.
6. Enter your addresses (present, permanent, preferred mailing) and contact details (email, mobile/landline).
7. Enter employment details for your member category: employed (employer name, address, compensation), self-employed, OFW (country of assignment), or voluntary.
8. List your heirs/beneficiaries. Benefits are divided among legal heirs under succession law, so list them in the proper order.
9. Review the summary page carefully. Incorrect spelling, wrong birth dates, and mismatched names are the number one cause of registration problems. Fix anything now — corrections later are slower.
10. Verify with the OTP sent to your mobile number.
11. Submit and save your RTN. Screenshot or write down the Registration Tracking Number on the confirmation page.
12. Print/download your MDF. Click “Print MDF” to save the PDF. Give a copy to your employer if employed.
13. Wait 2–3 working days, then use the MID Number Inquiry page with your RTN to check whether your permanent MID has been released.
Total time: roughly 10–15 minutes if your details are ready.
How much is the monthly contribution? (2026)
Since February 2024 (Pag-IBIG Fund Circular No. 460), the mandatory rate is:
| Monthly fund salary | Employee share | Employer share |
|---|---|---|
| ₱1,500 and below | 1% | 2% |
| Over ₱1,500 (up to ₱10,000 cap) | 2% | 2% |
In practice, most employed members pay ₱200/month (deducted from salary) with a matching ₱200 from the employer — ₱400 total credited to the member’s savings. Before February 2024 it was ₱100 + ₱100; many old guides still show the old figure.
Voluntary, self-employed, and OFW members remit their own contributions. The minimum is ₱100/month for voluntary members.
Registering at a Pag-IBIG branch (walk-in)
Prefer face-to-face? The branch process is:
1. Bring 1–2 valid government IDs (photocopies help).
2. Get a queue number at Member Services / Registration.
3. Staff will encode your details and verify them.
4. Ask for confirmation of your MID and double-check the spelling of your name and birth date before leaving.
5. Afterwards, create your Virtual Pag-IBIG account online using your MID so you can track contributions yourself.
How to check your MID number after registering
1. Wait 2–3 working days after online registration.
2. Go to the MID Number Inquiry page on the official site.
3. Enter your RTN and personal details.
4. Save your MID somewhere permanent — a notes app, an email to yourself, or a photo of your MDF.
If no MID appears after a week, see the troubleshooting section below.
Troubleshooting
OTP never arrives. Wait 5–10 minutes and check spam. Make sure the mobile number you entered is active and can receive SMS. Do not submit a second registration with slightly different details — duplicates are harder to fix than a delayed OTP.
“Record not found” when creating a Virtual Pag-IBIG account. This is almost always an encoding mismatch: “Ma.” vs “Maria,” a missing middle name, or a different birth-date format from what you used at registration. Re-enter using the exact details on your submitted MDF.
MID not released after a week. Your registration may be stuck in verification. Visit a Pag-IBIG branch with a valid ID and your RTN, or contact Pag-IBIG through their official channels. Bring your printed MDF.
Employer never remitted my contributions. Check your Regular Savings record in Virtual Pag-IBIG against your payslips. If deductions appear on your payslip but not in Pag-IBIG, raise it with your HR in writing — employers are legally required to remit.

How do I get a Pag-IBIG MID number online?
Complete the online Member's Data Form (MDF) through Virtual Pag-IBIG, save your Registration Tracking Number (RTN), and check the MID inquiry page after 2–3 working days. The MID is free — never pay anyone who offers to "process" it for you.
What is the difference between the RTN and the MID?
The RTN is a temporary tracking reference issued the moment you submit the online form. The MID is your permanent 12-digit membership number, released after Pag-IBIG verifies your registration.
What are the Pag-IBIG membership requirements for first-time employees?
Just accurate personal information matching your PSA birth certificate, an active mobile number and email, and your employer's details. There is no fee to register. Your employer then remits your ₱200 monthly share (plus their ₱200) once you provide your MID.
Can I register for Pag-IBIG without a valid ID?
The online form primarily needs accurate personal details and OTP-verified contact information; a National ID speeds things up via QR scan but is not the only path. For full Virtual Pag-IBIG account activation later (loans, MP2), you will need to verify identity with a passport or two valid primary IDs plus a selfie holding them.
I registered years ago but lost my MID. What do I do?
Use the MID inquiry/verification facility on the official site, or visit a branch with a valid ID. Do not register a second time — duplicate records cause contribution-posting problems.
Is online registration available for OFWs?
Yes. Choose the OFW category during registration and use a Philippine mobile number for OTP. You can remit contributions from abroad through Pag-IBIG's accredited payment channels.
